6 ultimate super foods for a faster & healthier weight loss
While many dieticians egg on restricting on calories during a weight loss regime, the fact is often far beyond the truth about what’s healthy and what’s not. It’s simple, for all foods on earth, quantity doesn’t always equate to the calories and the nutrition that comes with it. Not every food that’s rich in calories is fattening. All the more, this neither delineates the over-consumption of any healthy food. Because too much of anything has never been really good. Ultimately, therefore, it’s also about the quality of the calories that you have and not just the quantity!
According to many weight loss instructors, maintaining a sustained calorie-deficit helps lose weight quickly. That means, you need to lose/burn more calories than you consume. However, here’s a list of 8 underrated super foods that can really speed up your weight loss to a whole new awesome level! And I shall always swear by them for having lost over 13.5 kilos in 4 months!
Lemon water
Taking the day on with a glass of lemon juice mixed with warm water on an empty stomach in the morning is surely a heads up if you want to start losing all your extra weight in a remarkably short time. Lemon water catalyzes your metabolism and keeps it steady throughout the day. By the way, lemon is popularly known as a natural fat-burner as it’s rich in Vitamin C. People who find it hard to lose weight by falling for frequent hunger pangs should try this for sure. Lemon water activates all your organs and aids in eliminating body toxins with its cleansing properties. Nevertheless, it’s a great replacement to unhealthy drinks and beverages such as carbonated water, aerated soft drinks and cold coffee. Remember, it’s just lemon squeezed into warm water, WITHOUT sugar/sweeteners added.
Whole Eggs
If you’re a non-vegetarian, or even an egg-atarian, brace yourselves! That’s because eggs are one of the easiest things on the planet to cook. And yeah, eggs are a killer weight loss food. Please don’t fall for the common belief that heralds its fat/cholesterol content. A meal consisting of eggs or any egg dish is significantly rich in proteins, very low in calories and has a high Satiety Index; meaning they keep you full and prevent your urges to snack over any unhealthy thing that’s in your reach. You can choose to have eggs, preferably for breakfast or even lunch to fuel metabolism. The breakfast thing could be a plain omelette, vegetable omelette or egg bhurji.
Nuts & Dry fruits
Nuts have sadly been undermined due to their high fat content. However, every kind of fat is not Fat that makes you fat!
Well, what you must avoid in order to lose weight and stay healthy is Saturated and Trans-Fats. Nuts such as almonds, pistachios, walnuts contain Omega-3 fatty acids, which is, in fact, heart-friendly. Dry fruits like raisins and dates are a powerhouse of antioxidants and are the perfect sugar substitutes if your sweet tooth has been a hurdle to weight loss. They are naturally rich in fiber and keep you feel satiated for longer times. Bang it with a handful of these dry fruits & nuts for a satisfying evening snack.
Spinach
Like the above-mentioned foods, spinach being a fiber-rich food which is equally low in calories and high in proteins, becomes another weight-loss friendly food. A meal consisting of any dish made with spinach could be an ideal shot for breakfast.
Turmeric Tea
Turmeric is a powerful antiseptic spice, the tea of which can miraculously aid weight loss too!
